Description

**Updated 12/29/13 to include NUMBERED posters (1-4) and EDITABLE Powerpoints for student forms. If you have previously purchased this, please redownload under "My Purchases".

If you want to help your students learn where they are on their learning journey, these posters are for you!

These posters relate learning a new concept to climbing a mountain, and all of the materials are included to help use this in any subject across a wide variety of grades.

Students who are just beginning their journey are at the bottom of the mountain. As they climb, the titles and descriptions change to help them conceptualize where they are when it comes to their new learning. A title poster is included and each poster comes with helpful clip art as well.

Posters come in two versions: with and without numbers (1-4) for each level. For a quick informal assessment, have students hold up the number of fingers to their level of learning so you can check in and reteach where needed.

Also included in this pack are two EDITABLE Powerpoints! These EDITABLE PPTs will allow your students to track their learning at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the unit. You can also use this as a one-time snapshot as a pre-assessment and/or post-assessment. Just fill in the designated Powerpoints, print, and pass out. Students will use the descriptors to check off or fill in the square where they feel they are in the journey.

I hang the posters in my room and also make bookmarks for personal reference (a how-to link is included in the packet). These colorful posters are very kid-friendly, allow students to reflect on their learning, and provide meaningful formative assessment opportunities in math, science, social studies, and more!
